Shady is a very handsome 12 year old
Border Collie. Shady is living with Degenerative Joint
Disease, which is the canine version of arthritis. The
DJD mostly affects Shady’s rear legs. Shady’s stiffness
sometimes causes him to have trouble navigating and he
falls down, which used to cause him considerable
anxiety.
Shady has been coming for hydrotherapy
twice a week since December 05, and is doing very well.
Walking in the warm water helps to loosen up his joints
and he seems less stiff in his hind legs. Shady also
seems much more confident about moving around, and is
less anxious when he does take a spill. Shady has even
started bringing in the morning paper, a job that he
gave up a while ago due to stiffness and the daunting
front steps of the house. Go Shady Go!!
