Spottie is a 3 year old Jack Russell
Terrier who has a condition called Spinocerebellar
Ataxia. This syndrome is found primarily in Jack
Russells, and starts at about 7 months of age. Spottie
has trouble with his balance, and cannot walk in a
conventional way.
Spottie has been coming for
hydrotherapy once a week since his diagnosis.
Walking in the water (and navigating his way to the
toys!) has really helped Spottie with his balance. He
seems to move better and with less bobbing after his 20
minute hydrotherapy session. Plus, Spottie LOVES his
sessions. Often, he will try to climb back into the tank
after his work-out!
